At present, electric vehicles divided into lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries. And the most common is lithium iron phosphate(LiFePO4) batteries. A lithium battery does not have a memory effect. After more than 2000 cycles, the remaining capacity still reach 85%. Lithium batteries have lighter weight, larger specific capacity, and longer cycle life than lead-acid one. For a low-speed E-vehicle power supply such as golf-cart and motorcycle, which ask for lithium batteries have lightweight and easy to carry. It is helpful for less weight design of E-vehicle products. The specific difference between the two batteries is as follows.

Lithium battery:

1. Durability: Cycle life reaches 5000-8000 times and working life over ten years. For example, the 48V100Ah golf cart battery has a cycle life of up to 8000 times.

2. Large discharge rate: Support high current discharge, suitable for solar street lights, electric vehicles, motorcycles, boats, RV cars, etc.

3. Small volume: The lithium battery is small in size.

4. Large capacity: The capacity of lithium batteries in the same volume is more than that of lead-acid batteries.

5. No memory effect: It can be charged and used anytime.

6. Environmental protection: Lithium material does not contain any toxic and harmful component, and it is considered green battery by the world. It is pollution-free in production and use.

Lead-acid battery

1. Durability: The lead-acid battery cycle life is less than 300 times, the working life is about two years, which has a memory effect. And there is liquid in the lead-acid battery. If you find that the battery is hot or the reduction in charging time when you have used it for a long time, you need to add liquid.

2. Large volume: The lead-acid battery weighs 16-30kg and is large in size and weight.

3. Environmental protection: There is a large amount of lead in lead-acid batteries. If they are disposed of improperly, they will pollute the environment.

4. Low voltage: Rated voltage is 2.0V, a battery pack voltage is 12V.
