In recent years, many countries have begun to develop large-scale energy storage power stations and built a series of projects. With the continuous development of ESS batteries and the application of new raw materials, fire cases happen in recent years. The fire safety of energy storage systems has aroused widespread concern in society. At present, four kinds of fire extinguishing devices are being tested. Experiment with a single burning energy storage battery. 4 kinds of fire extinguishing devices are heptafluoropropane, perfluorohexanone, hot aerosol, and water mist.
The results are as follows,
1. When the energy storage battery module burns, an explosion will occur, and the battery will continue to react after the fire is extinguished. The fire extinguisher should consider fire fighting capability and cooling effect. It is difficult for the fire extinguishing device without a cooling effect to play a role in the fire case of the energy storage battery module.
2. To evaluate the fire extinguisher effect, it is necessary to investigate its characteristics of preventing re-ignition. The experimental results show that the fine water mist of 6 MPa and above can effectively extinguish the fire of the lithium-ion battery module.
